The area of the municipality of Slovenska Bistrica lies in the landscape between the Pohorje and the Haloze and unites various natural areas: the Polskava valley, the Ložnica valley, the Pohorje and of course the narrower Bistrica town area. The country is exceptionally varied, open to view and economically interesting; the tourist assets of the area are great. The entire area of the municipality is very varied and suitable for numerous sporting and recreational activities, such as: cycling, cross-country running, walking, sport climbing, and in the winter months skiing… Lovers of fishing will get their money's worth, and recently lovers of sport shooting too. Friendly people, keen advocates of culture, will always prepare a surprise for you – a puppet, theatrical, dance or musical one, or else that golden-yellow one in a glass which will "fortify your soul and body".
The hilly part of the municipality, or the Bistrica Pohorje, including all its villages, hamlets and people, represents and at the same time offers almost boundless possibilities for recreation (hiking, cycling, winter sports, paragliding…), for exploring natural and cultural sights or simply for enjoying unspoilt nature.
