Ruševec Green Village Pohorje is a unique example of ecological, sustainable or green tourism in Slovenia. On Maribor Pohorje, only 2 km from the upper station of the Pohorje cable car, lies the fairy-tale village of Ruševec with five eco bungalows of spruce logs, covered with a green roof. Next to them stands Vila Ruševec with six apartments. Around all the units stretch the 10 stations of the Ruševec Permaculture Circle (an apiary, a herb garden…), which aim to conjure up for you a natural, green story from Pohorje.
The boutique wellness Ruševec invites you to private pampering witharomatherapy in the Finnish sauna and the massage tub.
An ecologically oriented log cabin is a healthy house, built exclusively from natural, ecologically sound materials such as wood and sheep's wool. Because of the wooden walls and the sheep's wool the indoor climate in the room is very good; it is exchanged twice a day through the walls without a draught. This makes life in a natural living environment possible. What we took from nature by felling the Pohorje spruce, we have also returned to it in the form of ecological log cabins.
