The Gorica museum - presentation
The Gorica Regional Museum is located in Kromberk castle, a building built in the north Italian renaissance style. The museum is divided into archaeological, ethnological and historical-cultural sections. It houses permanent exhibitions of 20th century artists from the Primorje region as well as paintings and furniture from the 19th century.
The archaeological museum in Most na Soči, the Vila Bartolomei museum collection in Solkan and the Isonzo Front museum collection at Sveta gora are also part of the Gorica museum. A mineral collection is on display in the castle part and in the museum's foyer.
Since it lies near the border, the museum also cooperates with the Slovenian minority in Italy.
