Description of path
The trip behind in Podgrad, near Ljubljana. From there, head toward Besnica and Janče. Go through the underpass beneath the railroad tracks and continue along the Besnica valley to the village with the same name. The valley is deep, shady and cool. At the crossroads in the village, turn left and follow the major road. Three kilometers later, a road leads left toward Janče. A steep ascent (12%, occasionally even 20%) follows. After about two kilometers, you should pass the village Gabrje, which is surrounded by fields and hayracks. From there, all that is left is a 1.5-kilometer ascent to the mountain village Janče with the church of St. Nicholas. Janče is a popular tourist destination. The mountain lodge Na Jančah stands near the church, and there is a majestic view of the surrounding area.
