The central part of the municipality Šmartno ob Paki lies in the lower Paka valley, which widens into the Paka plain after exiting the Penk gorge. The old town center developed around the church of St. Martin. The slopes of Mali vrh nad Šmartnim are covered with vineyards, and wines from all over the Šmarsko – Virštanjska wine region can be tasted at the wine cellar. The town is a great starting point for trips through the region. The Gora Oljka mountain with a church and mountain lodge rises high above the town.
Relax in a warm and pleasant mountain atmosphere The holiday log cabins Alpinka 1 and Alpinka 2 at the ski resort Krvavec are located on the edge of the ski slopes at Kriška planina and on the edge of a lovely forest. They offer wonderful views over the Alps and the mighty Triglav.
