Loški Potok lies in the tri-border area between Dolenjska, Notranjska and Gorskih Kotar. Considered one of the hilliest Slovenian municipality, most of the settlements lie between 700 and 900 meters above sea level. The water has carved many typical karstic shapes into the limestone: numerous sinkholes, chasms, a compound sinkhole, a karstic plain and intermittent lakes. Surrounded by forests, the Retijska uvala compound sinkhole is one of the most beautiful in Slovenia. The area's greatest treasure is the pristine nature.
