Brežice

The Brežice municipality, located at the southeastern Slovenian border at the crossroads of several international roads, is one of the larger in Slovenia. Because of the Sava, Krka and Sotla rivers, it is considered a »green« municipality. The wine hills in the Bizeljsko and Pišečko areas provide top quality wines. Next to the majestic thermal water springs stands the second largest Slovenian tourist center – Terme Čatež. In the last few years, Brežice has become particularly famous for the Brežice Festival, where many old songs are played.
On August 26th, 1778, Triglav was conquered for the first time – 8 years before Mont Blanc, 22 years before Grossglockner was established. And how does this relate to our tour?
