Zagorje ob savi

The Zagorska dolina valley with Zagorje ob Savi sprawls at the foot of the Čemšeniška planina plateau and the Zasavska Sveta gora mountain, at the confluence of Medija and Kotredež. The area has been populated since prehistoric times, as evidenced by archeological finds such as the bronze clip from the skeletal graves at Zasavska Sveta gora. Coal mining has also left its mark on Zagorje ob Savi. Čemšeniška planina is a popular trip destination, and the tourist and recreation center of Medijske Toplice also welcomes all visitors.
