Mirna peč

The Mirna Peč valley lies by the Temenica karstic river, which begins at the picturesque Zijalo spring. Near Mirna Peč, the Temenica once again descends into the dark depths of Kras, whose features are especially impressive in the area of the Globokodolsko polje plain. This fascinating karstic field with many sinkholes, springs and karstic caves is a natural learning area. The surroundings are characterized by a rolling karstic relief with the traditional agricultural landscape. Every last Saturday in June, the traditional Mirnopeški tek marathon is held in Mirna Peč.
