Miren
Miren - Kostanjevica
The center of the Miren-Kostanjevica municipality, Miren, is a city with a 100-year tradition of shoemaking. The landscape of the region is very varied. The fertile fields, gardens and fruit orchards near the Vipava river are known as the 'garden of Goriška' while the other part of the municipality stretches deep into Karst with its typical karstic flora and fauna, karstic sinkholes and deep gorges. This is the home of Karst prosciutto and Teran wine. Interesting tourist sights include the Miren castle with its pilgrimage church and the lookout point at Trstelj.
