In the old town centre of Idrija stands the distinguished Šelštev building, where the miners gathered before setting off into the pit, into the mercury mine. Today visitors here can watch a multivision projection showing the work and life of the miners and the historical development of the mine.
A visit to the Anthony Main Road from 1500, the second oldest mine entrance in Europe, is an encounter with the mercury underworld and with a world shaped by the Idrija miners. At the end of the Anthony Main Road is the chapel of the Holy Trinity from the 18th century, the only underground sacral building in Slovenia.
Further distinctive attractions of the mine are the descent down the blind shaft, the Attems inclined shaft and a vivid presentation of various mining works
