The Podsreda castle - presentation
On the northern slope of green Orlica, the mighty Podsreda castle rises above a town of the same name. Despite many additions and renovations, the building has retained its original Romanesque core with many interesting details. It tells a story of many centuries and many owners, among them the countess Ema Krška, the bishops of Krško, the counts of Celje and the Windischgrätz family.
Today, the castle is part of the Kozjanski park and is used for exhibitions, concerts and promotional events.
It also houses a display of the castle's history and a glass exhibition showing the rich tradition of glass making in the region.
