You can begin your journey in Maribor. Cross the Malečnik bridge over the Drava and cycle up the left bank of the old river bed through Malečnik and Trčovo to Zgornji Duplek, where you should turn left toward Korena. The route goes over hilly terrain, so you will be going either up or down all the way to Korena and its church of St. Barbara. From here, you can enjoy the pleasant view of the Drava plain all the way to Boč and Donačka gora. Continue past the wine-shops and tourist farms to Zavrh. From Lenart, head down the main road past the Radehova artificial lake toward Sveta Trojica. In Komarnica, the asphalt road turns right to Cerkvenjak, then straight to Cogetinci and Spodnji Ivanjci. Soon, you will see a road splitting off to the left - to a pleasant, cyclist-friendly tourist farm. Then, proceed past Sp. Ivanjci across the Ščavnica valley and Radgonsko-Kapelske gorice to Gornja Radgona. The city lies by the Mura river near the Austrian border. It is known for the wonderful wine and impressive fairs. The surrounding area is also rich in cultural heritage.

In Zavrh you can see the Rudolf Maister memorial route, get something to eat, or climb the Maister tower, which offers an incredible view of the hilly landscape with its fields, orchards, vineyards, grasslands and forests. From here, you can see all the churches in the Slovenske gorice area. They were built on these hills in the 16th and 17th centuries by our forefathers. In the distance, you may be able to catch a glimpse of the ornithologically rich artificial lakes. Awaiting you in the middle of the Pesnica valley is Lenart, the administrative and economic center of Slovenske gorice and the crossroads of several regional cycling connections.
