The Soča front: one of the bloodiest episodes of the First World War got its memorial in the Kobarid Museum, dedicated to the Soča Front. This museum was among the finalists for the European Museum of the year prize in 1993. The latest instalment in this story is the Walk of Peace trail that leads past the outdoor war museums from the village of Log pod Mangartom to the Mengore hill above Tolmin. The group 1313 also preserves the memories of this time by staging performances in the Kluže Fortress.
