Šenk Homestead at Jezersko – rooms, apartments

The Šenk homestead, with its clustered arrangement of eight buildings roofed with wooden shingles, is an unrepeatable jewel of Alpine architecture, which our ancestors founded more than 500 years ago. The main house is presumed to boast the date 1521 and the settlement came into being after a great lake drained away in the 14th century. With love for the heritage of our ancestors the homestead has preserved its original appearance, while the house, with its grandeur untypical for this area, is protected as a cultural monument of national importance and thus subject to strict protection. We are aware of its priceless value, and therefore we gladly preserve it and share its rich history with you.

The view from the courtyard takes in all the farm buildings of the Šenk homestead, two of which are already missing, but that has opened up a view of the mighty rock faces of the Grintovci, which gives the whole backdrop an unmistakable stamp. The existing farm buildings preserve their appearance; the interior is being adapted to receive its new inhabitants; cows, sheep, pigs, hens and chickens, ducks and cats.

At the Šenk homestead we offer you accommodation in two renovated buildings; in the main house on the homestead, which we call the old house, and in the smaller retirement house. In both together there are 11 units and 30 beds. We offer apartments and rooms of various sizes, and in addition it is also possible to camp on the farm in summer.
 

ROOMS 

Rooms are mostly double, one is a triple room, in three more it is possible to add one extra bed, and one of the rooms has separate beds. We believe that in our offer you will find the accommodation unit that best suits your wishes. The special feature of our buildings lies in the use of local wood, which we used in the construction, and the reuse of the old wood from both buildings, which we used for wooden wall panelling and rustic furniture in the rooms.

In our rooms you will get everything you need for a pleasant holiday. They are furnished to modern standards and offer you quality bed linen, towels, personal hygiene items, a hairdryer, a safe for storing more valuable objects and equipment for making coffee or tea.
 

APARTMENTS 

There are four apartments; Kamra, which can host up to 6 people, Gank 5, Kovačnica 4 and Pekarnica 2.

The special feature of our buildings lies in the use of local wood, which we used in the construction, and the reuse of the old wood from both buildings, which we used for wooden wall panelling and rustic furniture in the rooms and apartments.

In our the apartments you will get everything you need for a pleasant holiday. They are furnished to modern standards and offer you quality bed linen, towels, personal hygiene items, a hairdryer, a safe for storing more valuable objects and equipment for making coffee or tea. In the kitchen there is all the necessary crockery for preparing tasty holiday meals; it is equipped with a fridge and a dining table with matching chairs. In the three larger apartments a sofa suite has also been added for your comfort.
