On the southern slope of Mount Olševa there is a spacious entrance to a cave where, in the Stone Age, from 40 000 to 30 000 before our era, the hunting tribes of the time are said to have lived.
The place is an important archaeological and palaeontological site on a world scale, since among other things the skeletons of 40 animal species have been excavated here, including the bones of the cave bear, more than 130 bone points and a great deal of other tools from the Old Stone Age.
The finds are kept by the Regional Museum in Celje.
