Preddvor lies at the foot of Storžič, just over ten kilometres from Kranj. In the place and its surroundings as many as four castles have been preserved, among them Turn Castle, where the first Slovenian woman writer Josipina Turnograjska once lived. The central recreation spot is Lake Črnava, popular in winter for skating and in summer for swimming and walks along the shore.
