Najger wine cellar and repnica

Repnica Najger is located at the top of the little village of Brezovica in Bizeljsko. They began digging the repnica as early as the 19th century, when they needed space for winter stores. Out of a small hole grew one of the finest and largest repnice. What makes the Najger repnica special is a space in which we witness a wonder of nature and human hands: a natural fresco in which, with a little help from your imagination, you will see various figures.

In the central tasting room you will be able to taste home-made varietal and blended wines by the glass (red and white bizeljčan and Welschriesling). Alongside them you will also be able to enjoy tasty cheese platters and other house specialities such as potica, apple strudel and savoury pastries. These will be  presented and offered to you by the lady of the house. If you ask them about the bottled-wine cellar, they will gladly show you that too.

From the history:
There are caves dug into the quartz sand which was deposited in the Bizeljsko area millions of years ago by the Pannonian Sea. As long as two hundred years ago these caves were used exclusively for storing field produce.
