Discover the hidden pearl by the emerald river – Kanal ob Soči

We want you to get to know in our place the hospitable locals who live here, create and breathe with the place; we want you to experience our place during the visit with all your senses, so we invite you to join us:

• Arrival in Kanal and meeting with a local guide in the centre of Kanal or at the railway station.
• We will walk through the centre of the medieval settlement, see the preserved defensive towers, the church of the Assumption ofMary, the Kontrada, the bridge and the street exhibition of the locals.
• We will get to know and taste the products of a beekeeper,of herbalists, look at artistic products of ceramics and Soča stones and listen to the story of the mysterious kabrca.
• We will see the Riko Debenjak gallery, and go into the defensive tower and the Gothic house.
• We will meet a maker of traditional Livek carnival masks.
• We will also visit a cheesemaker, where we will be able to taste and buy excellent products.
• At the railway station an enthusiastic collector will present the place during the First World War to us and show a collection of objects from that period.
• We will go to the point from which you will have the finest view of the famous Kanal bridge.
• There follows time for lunch or a snack at our caterers or something sweet in our patisserie (by arrangement).

Duration of the programme 4 hours

Price per person:
9 € / 40 – 50 people 
10 € / 30 – 39 people
11,50 € /20 – 29 people
12,50 € /15 – 19 people
16 € / 8 – 14 participants
 

Included:

• accompaniment by a local guide 4 hours
• tasting of home-made products,
• accident insurance for participants,
• organisation and VAT.
   

Not included: lunch.
 

After lunch we warmly recommend that our guide (for a surcharge) accompanies you further to:

• a walk through the wonderful Pečno park
• a visit to the artificial lake at Kanalski vrh (own transport)
• a visit to a beekeeper in Kal nad Kanalom with a tasting and the possibility of purchase, the possibility of tasting and purchasing cured meat products too
   
• On the Kolovrat above Kanal (own transport:
• a visit to the Lukec house and the preparation of local dishes with the housewife (voluntary contribution)
• a visit to Lig and one of the three famous Marian shrines – Marijino Celj
• a visit to a local wood carver and collector in Melinki (voluntary contribution
• a visit to Britof with the little church of St Cantianus and a wonderful three-winged altar (voluntary contribution)
• if you are hungry, we can arrange lunch/dinner for you in the local refreshment rooms
