Description of path

The starting point is either the Bistrica castle or Trg svobode (Square of freedom), where you should follow Kolodvorska cesta across the highway overpass. Proceed along the plain to the well-known restaurant and farm Napast, where you can get some rest or even go horse riding. Continue to Lapor, where the road winds above the valley and offers you a great view of the Drava valley. Descend past the chapel of St. Urban to the main road. Past the first bend, you should be able to see the famous Studenice monastery. Cycle toward Makole. The winding road near the Dravinja river will bring you to the village of Globoko, where you can see the Štatenberg castle. If you decide to visit the castle, you have two options afterwards: you can either descend back to the main road or take the wine road along the ride to Kočno. You can also get to Kočno via the »valley« road through Pečke and Ložnica pri Makolah. Slovenska Bistrica is only nine kilometers away, over level terrain.
