Kočevje is the economic and cultural center of Kočevska, a land of sprawling forests, unspoiled nature, primeval forest reserves, rich flora and fauna, numerous caves and lakes. The area has a special history, as it was left alone for a very long time – considered to be an inaccessible virgin forest.
