The route usually starts at the Rot restaurant in Bohinjska Bela, but you can begin anywhere near Lake Bled. Follow the road through Zgornja vas to the road (first asphalt, then macadam) that that starts just before the railroad overpass in front of the military barracks. Follow the road and turn left (almost all the way back) at the upper intersection. You'll soon reach a long, challenging slope. After about an hour of cycling you'll reach the plateau Za jamo, where you should continue straight ahead up a light slope. After a short descent, you'll reach an intersection where you should turn right and uphill toward the plateau Kranjska dolina. Follow the nice gravel road to the plateau, then turn left uphill along the barely visible road. Stay on the right edge of the upper meadow. At the end of the meadow, you'll reach a steep path that is practically impossible to ascend on your bicycle. You'll probably have to dismount and push your bike a few dozen meters to the upper part of the plateau. There, get back on your bike and prepare for a very steep and challenging ascent to the pass behind Galetovec. It goes along the plateau and you can cycle all the way. Once you reach the pass, there is only one final ascent left to the right. At the end, you might run out of breath since the slope is incredibly steep. At the top, cycle for another couple of dozen meters and you'll be rewarded with one of the most beautiful views in the Gorenjska region. Enjoy! Turn back the way you came and begin the descent. The slopes that were so challenging on the way up now become deliciously fun. At the pass, turn right past the springs and follow the gravel road through the forest for about a kilometer. You'll reach a forest road that you should follow toward the right to the National Liberation monument at the curve. (The road to the left leads to Belska planina. The wooden sculptures there are certainly worth a look.) Soon after the monument, turn right onto the walking path toward Bohinjska Bela. The descent is very steep and difficult (though you'll never have to get off your bike), so it should only be attempted by experienced cyclists. After a few curves, jumps and rocks on the road, you'll reach Slamniki. There, join the descent described in the route Gače pri Zatrniku. You'll join the descent at the point where that route comes through a spruce forest. Continue to the village, where the route ends and your car awaits. Of course, there are other options for the descent. If you keep following the forest road at the monument, you'll reach Zatrnik. There are also several gravel roads leading from Slamnik. Or, you could even return the way you came.

Galetovec is the eastern peak of Pokljuka and offers a beautiful view of nearly the entire Kranjska area. Getting to the top is a unique and extremely enjoyable experience. Due to occasional steep ascents and descents, the route can be fairly difficult and you may even have to dismount in certain places (V6,V7). Still, if the weather is good, you'll definitely be repaid for your efforts at the top.
